A defining piece of human anatomy that seems remote to fish structures would be the muscles that control our finger movements. Fish have similar muscles in their body structures. Every animal has similar structures which provides evidence to a common ancestor. Humans also have nerves in our head that are the same as in a fish's head. These similar pieces in human anatomy provided more evidence to evolution and that humans evolved from being a fish at some point.
The mass extinction that killed the dinosaurs was the event that needed to take place in order for animals to emerge ans truly flourish. During the time of the dinosaurs, animals spent their lives underground, hiding in burrows and hunting at night. Their lives were based around the dinosaurs because they were usually active at night. To avoid danger, species hid from potentially dangerous dinosaurs by digging underground tunnels to hide in while the dinosaurs were active. These small mammals developed the first hair on animals when they grew whiskers to help guide them in the darkness of the night and in their burrows.
